So Stockton Heath Digital Magazine had the honour of sampling some of the festive dishes off the Christmas menu. Here is our verdict.

Firstly we started off testing 2 of the 5 available starters on the menu. We had a choice of Goats Cheese Bruschetta, Chicken Liver Pate, Smoked Salmon, Butternut & Carrot Soup, Vegetable Parcel.


We chose to sample the Smoked Salmon and the Chicken Liver Pate. The Smoked Salmon was very delightful and a perfect starter, light enough to leave space for the main course as well as fulfilling the food pallet with an exquisite burst of flavour. Combining the salmon witSmoked Salmonh horseradish and dill cream cheese finished with a lemon dressing. The crunchy toasted baguette slices really added an element of texture to the starter and made it easier to enjoy.

Next, we tried the Chicken Liver Pate. Served with apple chutney, pitta chips. The pate was oozing with flavour. Very rich and a great texture. Perfect for spreading on the pitta chips and the apple chutney added an element of sweetness to the dish. Great for those who enjoy continental food and want to explore their tastebuds. Again a perfect starter, not too heavy and therefore leaves plenty of room for the main.


For our mains, we enjoyed the Turkey Kebab, Beef Stifado and the Vegan Burger.

Much to our surprise,Chicken Liver Pate the Turkey kebab was a Christmas dinner on a skewer. With all the elements you would find in a traditional Christmas dinner, in form of a Greek kebab. Very creative by the chef and was delightful to enjoy. The Turkey Kebab consisted of marinated turkey on a skewer and stuffing balls, pigs in blankets, Greek roast potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce. There is only one word that comes to mind and that is ‘Lush’. Definitely our personal recommendation.

The Beef Stifado is another really flavoursome dish with slow cooked pieces of beef in a rich tomato sauce, aromatic spices served with Greek roast potatoes. A great combination of flavours that have been allowed to fuse in the slow cooking process. Definitely a rustic Greek dish. One of those for people who wish to sample Greek cuisine. A perfect addition to the Greek menu.


Last but not least is the Vegan Burger. Perfect alternative to a Beef or Chicken burger, served with Vegan tomaTurkey Kebabto, cos lettuce, vegan cheese, onion rings, seasoned fries. Clearly made an effort for those who wish to enjoy a meat and dairy free meal. The attention to detail had made this dish packed with flavour. The only downfall to this dish is that it is not a chrismasy dish like the rest of the Christmas themed menu.


Beef StifadoOther Mains include: Salmon In fresh tomato sauce and herbs, roast vegetables. A signature dish from the island of Spetses.

Tomato & butter Bean Pie. Sweet and savoury butter bean, tomato and feta pie, mastiha syrup, halloumi chips

Due to being full from the starter and main course: we did not opt for a dessert.


Desserts include: Mince Pie Baklava Filo pastry filled with mince pie filling, vanilla ice cream. Cheese Bord, Vegan friendly Chocolate & Raspberry Torte and last but not least Vegan friendly Sorbet.
